(Note, these tips are personal. Some advice may suit you, while others may not. It is important to test your cooking equipment before the MDS):
- Take the lightest possible equipment
- Take a pot with a lid to prevent sand from getting into the food and to heat the meal faster (otherwise, use aluminum foil)
- Try to find a "spork"
- Take a pot or cookset made of aluminum or titanium to heat water
- Use a water bottle cut in half as a bowl
