The exact distances are kept secret until the MDS Legendary, the participants will be able to discover them at the time of the distribution of the Roadbook, which is given to you in Morocco on the way to the bivouac, the day before the start of the race.
The total distance of the MDS is more than 250 kilometers, divided into 6 stages - this may depend on the ground and the elevation of each edition.
Here is more or less the breakdown of the stages, example from the 2025 edition :
Stage 1: 32 km
Stage 2: 40 km
Stage 3: 32,5 km
Stage 4: 82,2 km (over 2 days)
Stage 5: 42,2 km
Stage 6 : 21,1 km
The stages of the MDS Legendary are to be covered : walking or running.
The cut off times are large enough so you can do the adventure at your own pace and become a finisher. The minimum speed allowed is around 3.5km/h.
