The exact distances are kept secret until the Handi MDS. Participants will be able to discover them at the time of the Roadbook distribution during the technical checks the day before the start of the first stage.
The total distance to be covered is approximately 70km, spread over 3 stages. Each stage will present its own challenges, as follows:
- Stage 1: 15 to 20 km
A learning and improvement stage with the equipment provided, ideal for acclimating to the terrain and strengthening team cohesion.
- Stage 2: 20 to 25 km
The second stage will immerse you in challenges testing your endurance and individual resilience*. Trial, special challenges: the person with a disability will need to draw on their resources to move forward without the support of their team on short segments.
*The implementation of these challenges is not yet definitively confirmed.
- Stage 3: 25 to 30 km
A stage identical to that of the MDS Morocco, without any adaptation, for a true shared challenge.
The Handi MDS stages are to be completed at your own pace. The terrain varies between loose sand and hard-packed sand, depending on the route. Sections that are completely impassable by wheelchair can be bypassed.
These distances are indicative and may fluctuate depending on the type of terrain and elevation.
