The exact distances are kept secret until the MDS, the participants will be able to discover them at the time of the distribution of the Roadbook during the technical controls the day before the departure of the first stage.
Two distance formats are offered for the MDS Raid: 90 km or 107 km to cover. A unique route through the heart of the dunes — here’s an overview of what to expect:
- Stage 1: 23.2 km
- Stage 2 (over 2 days): 19.4 km or 37.2 km on the first day, 21.9 km on the second day
- Stage 3: 25.9 km
The cut-off times are based on a minimum speed of 3 km/h, allowing everyone enough time to finish.
During the Star Night on Stage 2, you will cover either 19.4 km or 37.2 km on the first day. You will then stop to spend the night under the stars in a nomad camp. You will resume at sunrise for 25.9 km before spending the rest of the day at the bivouac.
The MDS stages can be completed at your own pace — walking or running.
Cut-off times are based on a minimum speed of 3 km/h, giving everyone enough time to finish.
The terrain varies between loose sand and firm sand, depending on the route.
*These distances are indicative and may vary according to the type of terrain and elevation gain.
